Rania Bashar, PhD

Wastewater process engineer and scientist. Rania received her PhD from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. She worked with Wisconsin’s Madison Metropolitan Sewerage District for several years. Her core expertise focuses on wastewater treatment technologies, nutrient removal, and recovery, converting waste stream to value streams, process optimization for treatment capacity and energy, emerging contaminants, and mathematical modeling. Rania has considerable experience in independently managing and leading variety of wastewater treatment projects. Through her long-term work in public wastewater utilities, Rania learnt how to communicate to diverse audience, build relationships with partners and stakeholders and to negotiate practical solutions.
