Alexander McPhail, Ph.D., B.S.

Alex, before joining Moonshot Missions, was a Water and Sanitation Specialist at the World Bank. He also served as a Board Director for DC Water. He has extensive experience with the issues facing utilities of all sizes, including financing, operations and stakeholder involvement. Through his work in more than 20 counties over 30 years, Alex has learned that considering a variety of cultures in understanding and resolving challenges results in more sustainable outcomes and, therefore, seeks to apply this tenet in all his professional assignments. He also believes that affordable water and sewer access are cornerstones of a healthy and successful life and has dedicated his career to making them available to as many people as possible.
Alex has a Ph.D. in Environmental Engineering from Johns Hopkins University,
and a B.S. in Business Administration from Portland State University.
